We booked Julian last year for our wedding earlier this week (August). From the very start Julian made the process stress free; he always responded to queries very quickly, no question was a silly question, and his online portal was easy/provides absolutely everything you need within a couple clicks. On the day our experience was just as good, if not better. He read the room really well and everyone had an amazing time. Absolutely incredible! Amazing magic mirror, outfits, pictures and guest book! Julian was so incredibly freindly and helpful, the photos we received the day after the wedding and also a video which was unexpected, but lovely touch! Julian did an amazing job DJing for the evening of our wedding. It was so hard to find a DJ that was happy to stay until the early hours of the morning and Julian did just that. He did a great job of taking our very different music genres and mixing them together. We loved the music and so did our guests. We also wanted to say a massive thank you to Julian for going above and beyond when helping set out our dance floor, it may not have been my wisest plan to assign that to boys that were already half way to wasted… Julian was always quick to reply, and his online system made it so easy. We hired Julian for our wedding at Owlpen Manor on 26/06/2024 and he did NOT disappoint! Arrived on time, amazing playlist and he read the crowd. Not many people were dancing because it was so hot (30 degrees that day) in the barn but we had endless compliments on the music and the playlist! The guests really enjoyed the music whilst having a drink outside. Julian’s communication was fantastic, he went above and beyond for our first dance song too. The lights were fabulous, I especially LOVED the pink uplighting! I boogied all night! Julian played all of my songs on my “must play” list too! Thank you so much, Julian. Being able to give 5 stars isn't enough for the service that was given tonight and would definitely use this service again. From booking to event night communication was fantastic. Julian from Bristol Disco Hire was fantastic. He was really responsive from day one and happy to arrange any calls we wanted to get any questions we had answered. Julian was fantastic at every stage of planning our wedding - great communication, friendly and professional with an amazing website which gave us everything we needed to choose music for each stage of the day, plan the event, set the vibe etc. It was a great relief to know that it was all organised so well in advance, and on the big day Julian was brilliant - he had to change his plans due to access issues at the venue due to market traders, which he did without any complaint, and he was so friendly and warm throughout, it was lovely to have him there with us all! We wanted a 90s/ indie / a bit alt music vibe and everything he played was perfect for that part of the event, we had SO many compliments on the music from so many guests! The lighting was fantastic as well, it looked amazing in the room. In the lead up to the wedding Julian gave us a link to his website for guests to make music requests (we still had power of veto!!) and then on the night, he put request slips on the tables, which I know quite a few people enjoyed using. It was such a happy, fun wedding and the music played a huge part in that - my partner and I have both commented on how lucky we feel to have booked Julian / Bristol Disco Hire. I was absolutely over the moon with the photobooth and so glad I booked with Julian. Julian contacted us prior to the wedding an created us a wonderful template from our save the dates. They came out so well and he even provided us with a book and directed our guests to write messages. The images were of such great quality and everyone loved it! We chose Julian's DJ service as well as the silent disco he offers. Was absolutely fantastic- I would highly recommend Julian as he played all the songs we wanted and played fantastic other stuff across the night. Also- not many people have silent discos at their wedding and it kept the energy going till late even with the Oldies. Julian's website where you can pick songs was equally amazing and catered for songs we didn't want playing as well. I had pre meetings with him on Zoom and I think I had very quick email turnaround often same day on queries, which goes a long way when planning a wedding! We chose Bristol Disco Hire based on reviews and we must say, they lived up to expectations. We opted for the all day disco and DJ package which included the use of a photobooth for 3 hours and we couldn't have been happier! Julian was so friendly during all of our pre-wedding conversations and on the day itself, he was so approachable and interacted with our guests which was brilliant. We were really happy with our DJ. The mix of music was perfect and all of our guests had a great time. A really good feature was the online portal where we could add songs that we wanted and guests could make requests in advance. It has been pleasure to work with Julian! He has always been polite, professional and friendly, and always replied to queries very promptly. The online system for logging key song choices and songs not to play, as well as key times was very helpful. On our wedding day Julian was fantastic! Everything was set quickly and efficiently with the venue. Our first dance went incredibly, and we were so impressed with Julian's ability to read the mood of the room and get people dancing. The songs that Julian choice to play really matched with our personal music tastes and vibe. We went for the Gold Package with uplighters and disco lights., which was perfect. Hired silent disco equipment off these guys, and it rocked! We were able to party past 3am without bothering the neighbours. I recommend the full LED headsets, rather than just normal headphones, they really added to the atmosphere. Service was very professional, and even though I dropped the equipment back on New Year's Day, my deposit was immediately put back into my bank account. Would definitely hire from them again. Brilliant service. First chat was a relaxed one and we explained what was important to us. He was able to Cater to our music choices and when the venue's sound system wasn't good enough he sorted out a system for us for the speeches and background music prior to his arrival. The dancefloor was full throughout the wedding. He played the more modern indie rock songs that we wanted as well as the classics like ABBA and Fleetwood Mac. Everything from the first enquiry, through to booking and arranging felt like you were going to get a great service. Most can be done via their website, and then confirmed via phone call. Music can be pre-selected by your invited guests (via the website). Setup on the day happened seamlessly. DJ was brilliant, personable, read the room, and a truly fantastic night was had by all. Honestly couldn't of asked for a better DJ. No fuss at all. Didn't have to worry about him or even think everything ran perfectly. The music was exactly what we asked for and he definitely took our music taste into account as there wasn't one song we didn't like or didn't have our wedding party dancing. Only bothered us to double check something that I'd messed up on the sheet and I'm glad he did for that. The set up was also lovely very wedding appropriate. It didn't feel like a club set up it still felt very romantic. He also did requests which obviously the guests loved and played us a last dance song which we requested and was my favourite part of the night. Julian and the girl running the photobooth were amazing, professional, courteous and so helpful. We found the process of booking really easy - Julian was really helpful and flexible when we told him we were having fireworks part way through the evening (playing Katy Perry's "Firework" was a really nice touch). The guests (including us) absolutely loved the photobooth and Julian did an wonderful job turning our stationary into the theme on the prints. We really loved the booking page as it was easy to use, make payments and we really appreciated the opportunity to have our say about how we wanted our evening to run (from whether we accepted requests to do and do not play songs, which were really easy to add and amend). The dance floor was buzzing with happy dancers all evening and Julian even took some photos for us - there's a really beautiful one of the first dance, which we really treasure. I hired the DJ and photo booth for my 6 year olds party. From start to finish he had the children and adults all involved in games and dancing. There wasnt even a minute where they lost interest. 5 star entertainment all round. The photo booth was absolutely amazing with props that were suitable for all ages. This is my first time hiring a DJ for my wedding and I was apprehensive about finding a good quality and fairly priced DJ. I don't need to look for anyone else in the future as Julian was superb. Julian provided the disco for our wedding for 60 guests aging from 7 to 85 years old. Julian arrived on time, was calm, polite and professional - his set up looked amazing, transforming the restaurant into a magical dance floor, perfect for our guests. He met all our previously discussed requirements - including controlled karaoke! Everyone was up dancing. Julian kept an eye on timing and gave us a nudge to move to the next stage. This was really great as we could just kick back and enjoy the evening. His music kept the upbeat and celebratory mood going through to the close of the party when he played a track we had identified as special to us. Julian took the time to meet us in person prior to our booking to discuss options and different packages that would best suit our day. Meeting Julian really put us at ease and we were able to tailor times and packages to best suit our day. After booking Bristol Disco Hire Julian was also available via email and even WhatsApp to discuss changes and answer any questions we had. We were also able to access our own private area on their website to choose songs to be played throughout the day. Julian went over and above as our wedding DJ and played songs that we didn’t even think to add but actually became huge moments throughout our day. Absolutely all of our guests were dancing at our wedding, there was music for everyone. Julian offered to make announcements throughout the day and offered discreet tie mics to those giving speeches and multiple speakers throughout the venue. Our guests commented on how clever he was at mixing songs together and the range of songs played. We are so happy with how our day went and can’t thank Julian enough. We hired Julian for our wedding disco and he was fantastic played a great mix of music so there was always people up dancing, he gave out song request cards to tables so people could easily ask for their choice of song as well as helping us create a list before hand of must play songs. The song we wanted for our first dance wasn't in his library but he found it for us and it was perfect, he also provided us with a light canopy and uplighting which looked stunning and finished the venue of perfectly. Julian was wonderful. We were raising money via a charity ball for our paediatric intensive care unit in Bristol. He designed us custom photo prints and gave us 2 per photo session in full colour with custom backgrounds as well as the border. We hired Julian for our wedding and he really did not disappoint. We're gutted we didn't get chance to speak to him at all, mainly because we were dancing constantly as the songs were just spot on, to our taste, and much to our guests also.
